What is the Art
Cashflow Report template and why do you need it?
I was informed
a long time ago, that when it comes to business: "you can't
manage what you don't measure".
In other words,
you need to keep a record of sales and costs within your art
business to monitor your progress on paper. It's important to be able to see where the money is coming
from and where it is going.
In some
respects, keeping track of your business figures is much like
having your own marketing data. If you know what is working then
you can make adjustments to make it even better. If things are NOT
going too well, you can at least see where your business isn't
going so well and make appropriate adjustments.
Keeping records
can be a very boring process, but the Art Cashflow report template
makes it so simple, as it does all the calculating for you. You
just enter the figures and save your file each month.

example...
Watched the
video? Still wandering what fees may full under the miscellaneous
column?
Miscellaneous
fees could be anything from advertising costs that needed to
be paid, fees that may need to be paid to the gallery owner,
exhibit stall fees, or you simply may have to pay an affiliate
commission to someone who helped you sell the painting.
Remember that
you can make any adjustments you require to better suit your
selling environment. If you are not selling art on ebay and only
doing weekend exhibits, simply fill in the category titles to better
cater for your exhibit art sales. It's easy!
If
you are selling your art through a gallery; its still important
that you keep a personal record of your sales and costs.
Automatically Does The Calculating
For You
This Art
Cashflow Report template is set up to automatically calculate all
the data you enter into the areas that are relevant to the sale
and costs associated to your art business.
All you need to
do is enter your data each month and save the report in your
allocated file on your computer.
As you will
need an empty report template (a copy with no entered numbers) for each new
month, make sure to copy your existing cashflow report under a new
name.
For example,
when you are downloading this template from my site, save it under
whatever month we are currently in.
Then when you
have it downloaded into your "cashflow report" file,
save it again as the name of next month. Then repeat the process a
couple of times until you have around 6 months of empty templates
ready to use.
Doing this will
save you having to delete all the data and entering zeros to
commence a new month.
I hope you
manage to get some good use out of this template.

"I
have been dragging my feet about getting back into my art for
too long. Carl thank you for your No BS answers to my
frustrations. I have to admit I didn't really expect to hear
anything when I filled out the survey, but when I got a personal
letter from you I was blown away. Thanks again"
"Thank you so much for your personal
reply. EVERYTHING you said really struck a chord and I guess on some level I already knew all the answers. You have motivated me beyond anything I have ever read, been told or taught
before..." "Your
advice has been very good... especially the part about vision
and practice"
"Carl, Thank you
for that thoughtful reply. I printed it out and at first look I
didn't see that it was a personal response. That was the most
direct honest wise interpretation of my dilemma that I have ever
had the pleasure of reading..."
"What you said
has really got me excited. Thanks so much for the reply (and at
4 in the morning too!) I am really going to work hard at
starting where I left off so long ago..."
