Thanks for your wisdom
by Michele
(Canada)
A dear friend of mine emailed me your link a few months ago.
She raved about you, now she hadn't been the kind of artist who shared stuff that might help her competition get ahead so I was really surprised at receiving such a vast amount of wisdom and common sense.
Just to let you know how your site has helped me, here's my story:
I am a mural artist by profession, I've always had a list of clients waiting for me and then when the recession hit in 2008 my business also crashed, I had 0 work.
I was burnt out and chose to really just putter around my house and didn't want to look at a canvas.
After having a looooooong break I started reading your emails and started painting again. I entered a number of juried shows and have been lucky enough to get my work in every one. I am now affiliated with a local gallery and have just started to put together a website.
www.zhibit.org/michelejones
It is still under construction but it's a start.
I just finished "The War of Art" and never enjoyed being kicked in the rear so much.
I've since bought a couple of copies and given them away and I'm about to reread mine again.
I wonder how long my break would have been without your emails?
One more thing I never had to look for work, I'm 42 and have been busy since Art school, so having all of you tips really gave me somewhere to start when the work dried up.
Thank You Carl
Sincerely
Michele Jones
P.S. I refer to you as my lighthouse
