"The Musical Dream"

The Musical Dream was taken from a rough sketch I drew one late cold winter afternoon (see video below).

My idea was to portray a musicians ability to see a melody or notes in his or her minds eye...hence the eye as the acoustic hole on the guitar, and the other underneath the guitars fret board.

You may also notice how the guitars' fret board has no end, it spirals into some kind of never ending eternity. I think this is kind of symbolic of what music represents...it has no end, nor will it ever have an end...much like our dreams...they will forever consume us asleep or even when we are wide awake.

With this abstract acrylic painting I have incorporated undertones and light surface colours and  given all the shapes boundaries dark tones to create a dream like environment.
